About the Role
As a Principal Business Analyst, you will be responsible for leading analysis activities within a significant program of work. You will work closely with operational and project stakeholders to define current-state processes, design future-state solutions, identify business impacts, and support organisational readiness for change.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Leading the analysis and documentation of current-state business processes, practices, business rules, and system usage.
- Facilitating workshops and co-design activities to define future-state business processes aligned with the program vision.
- Identifying business change impacts and recommending interventions to support successful adoption.
- Collaborating with stakeholders to define information management practices that support both current and future operating models.
- Leading and managing business analysis activities across complex ICT projects and programs.
- Developing, implementing, and continuously improving business analysis frameworks and methodologies.
- Providing strategic and operational advice relating to business analysis practices and project direction.
- Ensuring business process modelling activities are delivered to a high standard and in line with established frameworks.
- Mentoring and supporting other Business Analysts within the program.
- Building and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships across business and technical teams.
- Contributing to the evolution of business analysis capabilities and best practices across the broader organisation.
- Leading specialised project teams and driving successful delivery outcomes.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Extensive experience as a Business Analyst within large-scale ICT or digital transformation programs.
- Strong business process mapping and process improvement expertise.
- Demonstrated experience gathering, analysing, and documenting complex business and functional requirements.
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement, facilitation, and communication skills.
- Experience leading workshops and managing diverse stakeholder groups.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and consulting capabilities.
- Proven ability to work in complex, fast-paced environments with competing priorities.
- Experience mentoring junior analysts and leading business analysis teams.
Highly Regarded
While not essential, experience or knowledge of patient administration systems, particularly within healthcare environments, will be highly regarded, including:
- HBCIS (Hospital Based Corporate Information System)
- Patient administration systems
- Clinical or operational healthcare systems
- Health sector digital transformation initiatives
