About the Role
A Project Manager is required for a 10‑week contract to lead and coordinate major projects on Norfolk Island. Reporting to the Project Director, this role will oversee the delivery of key infrastructure initiatives, manage complex contractual arrangements and support the performance of at least one team member. This is an opportunity to contribute to high‑impact work in a distinctive environment while ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope and aligned with strategic objectives.
Role Responsibilities
- Coordinate the delivery of current and upcoming projects on Norfolk Island
- Oversee project scope, budget, schedule and risk management
- Prepare high‑quality briefings and advice for senior executives and government stakeholders
- Manage relationships with contractors, stakeholders and the Norfolk Island Regional Council
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, policies and governance frameworks
- Lead and support staff to achieve timely and effective project outcomes
- Demonstrated experience managing complex infrastructure or capital works projects
- Strong capability in contract management and stakeholder engagement
- Proven ability to manage project risk, scope, budget and scheduling
- Experience preparing executive‑level briefings and advice
- Knowledge of government processes, legislative frameworks, or public‑sector project delivery (highly regarded)
- Leadership experience, including supporting or supervising staff
- Ability to work effectively in remote or unique community environments
