Key duties and responsibilities
Project Managers are accountable for day-to-day ICT program and project functions including resourcing, scheduling, prioritisation and task coordination. They are responsible for meeting project milestones, objectives and deliverables within agreed time frames and budgets, using correct methodologies in the process. Additionally, these officers ensure effective program/project delivery and prevention of potential issues by implementing well-thought-out risk management and contingency plans.
The Specified Personnel will be responsible for providing the following deliverables including but not limited to:
- Managing project scope, schedule, budget, resourcing, risks, issues, procurement, stakeholder engagement, change control, governance and reporting;
- Managing project delivery teams;
- Tracking issues efficiently and effectively throughout the life of the project;
- Documenting a management plan that identifies the actions required to realise benefits;
- Preparing timely, accurate and high-quality reports, and project documents;
- Travelling interstate, as required.
Technical skills
Extensive project management experience with ICT Infrastructure projects including: • Stakeholder relationship management • Financial management • Organisational change management • Project management • Requirements definition and management.
Essential criteria
- Stakeholder relationship management 5: Identifies the communications and relationship needs of stakeholder groups. Translates communications/stakeholder engagement strategies into specific activities and deliverables. Facilitates open communication and discussion between stakeholders.
- Financial management 4: Monitors and maintains financial records to agreed requirements for compliance and audit. Assists with identifying and calculating process, service, project and component costs for financial planning and budgeting.
- Organisational change management 5: Develops the change management approach and a change management plan in collaboration with sponsors, users and project teams. Creates and implements action plans to ensure everything is ready for change before going live.
- Project management 5: Takes full responsibility for the definition, approach, facilitation and satisfactory completion of medium-scale projects. Provides effective leadership to the project team. Adopts appropriate project management methods and tools.
- Requirements definition and management 4: Defines and manages scoping, requirements definition and prioritisation activities for initiatives of medium size and complexity.
- Performance management level 4: Provides operational direction, support and guidance to assigned colleagues. Allocates routine tasks or project work, in line with team objectives and individual capabilities.
Security Required: Baseline Security Clearance required
Location - Canberra Hybrid - 3 days a week in the office
