Release Train Engineer

About the Consultancy

Join a leading international consultancy delivering enterprise‑scale content management, data governance, and platform services across highly regulated industries. Our teams partner with organisations to stabilise, optimise, and evolve critical content platforms — ensuring long‑term reliability, performance, and compliance.

About the Role

Our client is looking for an experienced Release Train Engineer (RTE) to join to serve as a servant leader and coach for one or more Agile Release Trains (ARTs), facilitating key SAFe events, driving continuous improvement, and acting as a trusted advisor to Banking clients.

  • Experience in the banking or financial services industry
  • Exposure to large-scale transformation or SAFe implementation programs within financial institutions

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate and coach ART-level ceremonies including PI Planning, Inspect & Adapt, ART Sync, and System Demos
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for client stakeholders, providing clear and regular communication on ART progress, risks, and impediments
  • Coach teams, Product Owners, and Scrum Masters in SAFe principles and Agile best practices
  • Identify and remove cross-team impediments to enable flow and delivery
  • Track and communicate ART metrics (velocity, program predictability, flow metrics) to both internal teams and client leadership
  • Drive continuous improvement through retrospectives and coaching engagements
  • Support portfolio and program-level planning activities in collaboration with client leadership

Required Skills & Experience

  • Hands-on RTE experience in a recent, active capacity
  • Strong background in Agile project management across multiple teams or programs
  • Deep knowledge of the SAFe framework (SA or RTE certification strongly preferred)
  • Proven ability to operate in a client-facing environment — comfortable presenting to executives and managing stakeholder relationships
  • Experience managing program-level risks, dependencies, and delivery commitments
  • Excellent facilitation, communication, and coaching skills
