About the role:
This role focuses on designing, building, and automating resilient cloud infrastructure to ensure business continuity in the event of catastrophic failures, with a strong emphasis on disaster recovery automation and multi‑region design. It involves transitioning legacy environments into fully managed, version‑controlled Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, implementing immutable backup strategies to safeguard critical data, and developing robust DR patterns and backup automation. The role is responsible for designing and maintaining scalable, secure, and highly available AWS infrastructure while collaborating closely with cross‑functional teams to automate operational processes and continuously enhance the reliability and integrity of the cloud environment.
Mandatory Requirement:
Citizenship Requirement: Must be an Australian citizen to be eligible for this role.
Government Clearance: Minimum baseline or NV-1 clearance government clearance.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Disaster Recovery Automation: Build and manage infrastructure and automation to recover cloud environments from catastrophic events, ensuring business continuity.
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Transition legacy systems into fully managed, version controlled Terraform state.
- Data Integrity: Implement immutable backup policies to protect critical business data.
- Infrastructure Management: Design and maintain scalable, secure, and highly available cloud infrastructure using AWS services.
- Develop DR patterns, multi-region design, backup automation
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to automate processes and enhance cloud infrastructure.
- 5 to 10 years+ of hands-on clous resilience and DR experience in developing DR runbooks, automated test plans and backup strategies.
- Strong understanding of Azure & AWS Cloud Platform services.
- Experience working with multi-region, multi-zone network topologies and HA/DR configurations.
- Familiarity with Azure & AWS DR monitoring tools.
- Ability to work in highly structured environments with strict change control and governance models.
- Azure &/or AWS Engineering certifications.
- Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (e.g., ARM templates, Terraform) for managing resilience and DR configurations.

This contract is available for an initial 12-month term with an extensions – June 2026 start
