About the role:
The SAP BODS Data Conversion Specialist is responsible for designing, developing and delivering high‑quality data migration solutions to support SAP S/4HANA and SAP MDG programs. The role ensures the accurate extraction, transformation and loading of master and transactional data while aligning to MDG governance, data quality standards and client data strategy. The specialist works closely with functional, technical and business teams to achieve program objectives and ensure data readiness for cutover.
Mandatory Requirements:
- Be an Australian citizen with an active NV1 AGSVA clearance. Active Baseline will be considered.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field. Equivalent professional experience can also be considered in lieu of a degree.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the end‑to‑end design and build of SAP BODS ETL jobs to support SAP MDG and S/4HANA migration requirements.
- Analyse source systems, data structures and business rules to define transformation logic and mapping specifications.
- Work with MDG functional consultants to ensure alignment with MDG data models, governance frameworks and validation rules.
- Develop data quality, cleansing and enrichment routines using SAP BODS and related toolsets.
- Manage data loads into SAP MDG, staging areas and S/4HANA systems, including delta loads and reconciliation processes.
- Participate in data workshops, profiling activities and data migration scoping sessions.
- Prepare data migration documentation including mapping sheets, technical specifications and load procedures.
- Support data reconciliation and defect resolution during mock conversions, SIT and UAT cycles.
- Ensure compliance with data governance, security and privacy standards.
- Contribute to cutover planning, execution and post‑go‑live data assurance activities.
- Work collaboratively within agile delivery teams and provide technical guidance to junior team members.
- Strong experience delivering SAP data migration projects using SAP BODS.
- Hands‑on experience with SAP MDG across any master data domain.
- Experience with S/4HANA data models, staging tables and target structures.
- Ability to interpret functional requirements and convert them into technical ETL logic.
- Strong SQL and ETL performance optimisation skills.
- Experience with data quality, profiling and cleansing methodologies.
- Understanding of SAP MDG governance processes, validation rules and workflow behaviour.
- Experience in large‑scale transformation or brownfield/greenfield SAP implementations.
- Strong stakeholder communication and documentation skills.
- Ability to operate within enterprise consulting environments and multi‑vendor delivery programs.
