About the role:

 

We are seeking an experienced and highly capable Senior Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of two SAP transformation initiatives.  The role requires a strong leader with proven experience managing large-scale SAP implementations and business transformation projects across multiple business units and a complex group of stakeholders.

 

The successful candidate will be responsible for end-to-end project delivery, including planning, governance, financial management, stakeholder engagement, risk management, vendor coordination.  This role demands strong leadership, communication, and SAP delivery expertise, with a strong understanding of both business processes and enterprise technology landscapes.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Project Leadership & Delivery

  • Lead complex SAP projects and programs from initiation through to successful deployment and hypercare
  • Develop and manage project plans, schedules, budgets, resource plans, and delivery roadmaps.
  • Ensure project objectives, scope, deliverables, and success criteria are clearly defined and achieved
  • Manage project dependencies across business, technology, and third-party vendors
  • Drive project execution using Agile delivery methodologies.
  • Monitor project progress and proactively address risks, issues, and impediments.
  • Collaborate with solution architects, functional consultants, technical teams, and business stakeholders to ensure alignment between business requirements and SAP solutions.
  • Oversee system integration, data migration, testing, cutover, and deployment activities.
Stakeholder Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with executive sponsors, business leaders, IT teams, and external partners.
  • Facilitate steering committee meetings and project reporting
  • Translate complex technical concepts into business-focused communications.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations and secure agreement on priorities, scope, and outcomes.
Governance & Risk Management

  • Identify and manage project risks, issues, assumptions, and dependencies.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational standards, security requirements, and regulatory obligations.
  • Provide accurate and timely reporting on project performance, financials, and delivery status.
Financial & Resource Management

  • Manage project budgets, forecasts, and financial performance.
  • Lead resource planning and allocation across internal and external teams.
  • Drive operational transition and handover to support teams.
Leadership

  • Inspires and motivates high-performing project teams.
  • Drives accountability and delivery excellence.
  • Influences stakeholders at executive and operational levels
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to manage ambiguity and resolve complex issues.

The Successful Candidate

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Business, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 8-10 years of project management experience delivering enterprise-scale technology programs.
  • Minimum 5 years managing SAP implementation or transformation projects other than S/4HANA transformations. (essential)
  • Demonstrated experience managing multidisciplinary teams, vendors, and system integrators.
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies, governance frameworks, and delivery best practices.
  • Preferred PM and Agile delivery Certified
  • SAP Activate Project Manager Certification (preferred, not essential)
 

Location and Contract Term

This role is based in Sydney

Contract until April 2027.
