About the role:
As an SAP RISE Technical Architect, you will play a strategic technical leadership role in guiding enterprise clients through complex SAP S/4HANA and RISE with SAP transformations.

As a trusted technical advisor who designs, governs, and leads the delivery of future‑ready SAP landscapes across hybrid and multi‑cloud environments. Combining deep hands‑on SAP Basis expertise with architectural vision, you enable clients to modernise their core systems while balancing security, performance, scalability, and innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical & Architectural Leadership

  • Act as Lead Technical Architect for SAP RISE, S/4HANA, and cloud transformation programs
  • Define end‑to‑end target architectures across SAP S/4HANA, BTP, and hyperscalers (Azure, AWS, GCP)
  • Provide expert guidance on RISE with SAP adoption models, trade‑offs, and roadmap decisions
Hands‑On Delivery & Governance

  • Lead and execute complex technical activities including:
    • S/4HANA conversions (Greenfield, Brownfield, Selective Data Transition)
    • OS/DB and Unicode migrations
    • SAP upgrades and platform modernisation
  • Govern technical delivery quality, risk, and performance across landscapes
  • Troubleshoot and resolve high‑impact technical issues
Cloud, Security & Integration

  • Design secure, scalable cloud‑ready SAP landscapes
  • Define security and identity solutions (SSO, MFA, federation, SAP authorisations)
  • Architect integrations using SAP Integration Suite, CPI, APIs, and event‑driven patterns
Client Engagement & Thought Leadership

  • Work directly with senior client stakeholders as a technical sparring partner
  • Lead architecture workshops and executive‑level discussions using storytelling and visualisation
  • Translate complex technical concepts into clear business outcomes
Team Leadership & Enablement

  • Coach and mentor junior architects and consultants
  • Support pre‑sales, RFPs, and solution shaping activities
Required Technical & Professional Expertise

  • 10+ years of experience in SAP Basis / Technical Architecture (Band 9)
  • Current SAP certification (e.g., SAP Basis, S/4HANA, Technical Architecture)
  • Deep expertise in:
    • SAP S/4HANA (Greenfield & Brownfield)
    • SAP HANA platform provisioning and optimisation
    • OS/DB migrations and cloud transitions
  • Experience with:
    • Selective Data Transition (SDT / Bluefield / Hybrid)
    • Hyperscalers: Azure, AWS, GCP
    • SAP Fiori configuration and lifecycle management
    • SAP security and authorisations in complex environments
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to work independently
  • Excellent communication skills (written and spoken English)
The successful candidate:

Candidates should be able to demonstrate the following skills:

  • SAP RISE delivery experience
  • SAP BTP (CAP, RAP, Integration Suite, Event Mesh)
  • Clean Core architecture principles
  • Integration technologies: CPI, PI/PO, MuleSoft
  • EA frameworks: TOGAF, SAP EAF, ArchiMate
  • DevOps & CI/CD pipelines for SAP
  • Exposure to AI, automation, and intelligent enterprise scenarios
What's on offer?

This contract is available for until December 2026 with likely extensions.

Located in Sydney OR Melbourne, this role offers a hybrid working arrangement.
