About our client:   

Our client is a leader in professional services and consulting, providing a wide range of services including strategy, consulting, technology and systems integration, and operations to a range of clients across Government, Financial Services, Utilities and more.   

Key Responsibilities:  

  • Lead the scrum team as a servant leader.
  • Craft a servant leadership style to be an example for all Westpac employees and aspiring leaders.
  • Guiding the team and organisation on how to use Agile/Scrum practices and values to delight customers.
  • Create a positive team environment that empowers the team through facilitation of discussion.
  • Partner with the Service Owner to ensure a strong vision, backlog development and cadence.
  • Facilitate Agile ceremonies (incl. sprint planning, sprint reviews and retrospectives), ensuring that activities are time-boxed and artefacts are visible to the team (through visualisation techniques and/or tools).
  • Act as a day to day contact point with partners and/or vendors required to deliver solutions for the project. Monitor and report on progress and performance against agreed deliverables and quality and performance standards to ensure quality of outcomes, cost effectiveness.
  • Estimate, budget and control costs so that the project can be completed within the approved budget.
  • Execution of the processes of conducting risk management planning, identification, analysis, response planning, monitoring and control of risks in a project.
Required Experience:  

  • Certified Scrum Master or Professional Scrum Master Level 1 desirable
  • 2+ years practical experience on a Scrum and/or Agile team
  • 1+ years practical experience as a Scrum Master for 1+ teams
  • Familiarity with market leading Agile tools, e.g. JIRA, Rally, Version One, desirable
  • Facilitate multiple team delivery of work through strong servant leadership
  • Ensure timely and accurate communication throughout. Keep up to date with the role and function of each team member to effectively coordinate the activities of the teams. Identify and monitor risks
  • Effectively lead the team to align with the business objectives and schedule
  • Help develop solutions to complex problems through mentoring others
  • Establish clear accountabilities, roles and responsibilities for direct reports
  • Develop and coach to meet team and individual development needs and requirements
  • Develop own team members to ensure uplift in required capabilities
 

What's on offer?   

This contract is available for an initial 6-month term with likely extension on a long-term project to start in January 2026

Available Locations – Sydney, NSW - this role offers a hybrid working arrangement.
