The organisation manages standalone networks where cyber security, compliance, and operational assurance are critical to success. About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Security Operations Administrator to support cyber security operations within a secure, standalone network environment based in Canberra.

Working under the direction of the Solutions Lead and Security Operations Manager, you will be responsible for administering security tooling, managing vulnerabilities, implementing system hardening and patching, and contributing to security documentation and assurance activities.

This is a hands‑on role suited to someone with strong technical depth who is comfortable working within government security frameworks and procedures.

Role Responsibilities
  • Administer and maintain cyber security applications across a secure network environment
  • Manage Trellix ePolicy Orchestrator (ePO) including ENS, DLP, and Solidcore
  • Perform vulnerability management activities using Tenable Nessus, including remediation and system hardening
  • Administer and configure Splunk for SIEM activities, including searches, dashboards, alerting, and log onboarding
  • Conduct operating system and application patching within required compliance timeframes
  • Identify, investigate, and remediate security incidents and vulnerabilities
  • Develop, maintain, and contribute to documentation such as SOPs, build guides, patch management plans, and design artefacts
  • Ensure security records are accurate, complete, and managed in line with defined standards
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of security policies, procedures, and standards
Qualifications and Experience Essential:
  • Demonstrated experience administering Trellix ePO(ENS, DLP, Solidcore)
  • Strong experience using Tenable Nessus for vulnerability management and security hardening
  • Hands‑on experience with Splunk SIEM, including searching, dashboards, and alerting
  • Proven experience in security hardening across operating systems and applications
  • Experience with patching and configuration management in secure or regulated environments
Desirable:
  • Experience producing high‑level designs, build documentation, configuration guides, and SOPs
  • Ivanti Device Control configuration and administration
  • Active Directory and DNS administration
  • Active Directory Certificate Services (PKI) experience
