About the role:
We are seeking an experienced Security Technical Lead to manage a hybrid team of security professionals (onshore and offshore), drive operational uplift, and lead the delivery of security operations for a critical infrastructure client. You’ll act as the single point of contact for all account-related inquiries and escalations, develop strategic roadmaps for vendors and solutions, and ensure cohesive service delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead security operations for the client, managing hybrid teams and driving operational uplift and strategy.
- Act as the primary point of contact for client and internal teams for all account-related matters and escalations.
- Develop and execute strategic roadmaps for vendors and security solutions under management.
- Oversee onsite teams to ensure cohesive and high-quality service delivery.
- Collaborate with client teams to resolve issues quickly and efficiently.
- Ensure compliance with SOCI Act and lead security operations in critical infrastructure environments.
- Core security expertise in:
- Firewalls & Network Security: Cisco ASA/Firepower, Palo Alto (PAN-OS, Panorama).
- Proxies & Secure Web Gateways: Prisma, Zscaler.
- VPN & Remote Access: Global Protect, Cisco AnyConnect, SSL/IPSec VPNs.
- Load Balancers: F5 BIG-IP, Citrix ADC.
- Microsegmentation: Illumio, VMware NSX, Cisco Tetration.
- NAC & Zero Trust: Cisco ISE, Aruba ClearPass, Zero Trust implementations.
- Threat Detection & EDR: Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, CrowdStrike, SentinelOne.
- Previous experience leading managed security service operations in a hybrid onshore/offshore environment.
- Experience in the utilities sector and working in critical infrastructure security operations.
- Knowledge of the SOCI Act and regulatory requirements.
- Melbourne-based, with 3–4 days onsite required.
- Experience with Microsoft Sentinel and IBM QRadar.
- Advanced knowledge of Palo Alto firewalls.
- Experience working with systems integrators in managed security service delivery.
This is 7-8 month contract role with likely extensions based in Melbourne, with an immediate start available. You’ll play a key role in delivering secure, compliant, and innovative security operations in a dynamic, high-impact environment.
