About the End Client
The end client is a major financial institution operating in a highly regulated capital markets environment, with a strong focus on trading, risk management, and post-trade processing.
Role Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Calypso Developer to design, build, and support end-to-end trading and post-trade solutions. This is a hands-on technical role requiring deep expertise in Calypso, Java development, and system integrations within financial markets.
You will work closely with architects, business analysts, and Agile delivery teams to deliver scalable and high-performance solutions across front-to-back trading systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop custom solutions using Calypso APIs and Java
- Build and manage Calypso workflows, rules, schedulers, tasks, and lifecycle events
- Support full trade lifecycle including capture, confirmations, settlements, risk, valuation, and collateral
- Develop and maintain real-time and batch integrations(REST APIs, XML, JMS, messaging frameworks)
- Perform impact analysis, root cause analysis (RCA), and performance optimisation
- Provide production support and contribute to BAU activities
- Support Calypso upgrades, enhancements, and platform improvements
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile/Scrum environment
- 8+ years of hands-on experience with the Calypso Trading & Risk Management platform
- Strong Java development skills with expertise in Calypso frameworks and APIs
- Deep knowledge of Calypso workflows, schedulers, and post-trade processing
- Solid experience with SQL, Unix/Linux, and shell scripting
- Strong understanding of financial products: FX, Rates, Fixed Income, Derivatives, Repos
- Experience with system integrations and messaging frameworks(JMS, MQ, APIs)
- Proven ability to troubleshoot and solve complex technical issues
- Experience working in Agile environments
- Exposure to Calypso CATT, upgrades, or platform migrations
- Experience supporting regulatory initiatives or high-availability platforms
- Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
