The Hybrid Infrastructure Engineer will provide hands‑on delivery across cloud and hybrid platforms, with supporting responsibility for on‑premises infrastructure where required. The role is outcomes‑focused and supports the reliability, security and continuous improvement of cloud‑hosted systems, while ensuring effective integration with on‑prem environments.
Key duties and responsibilities:
- Design, implement and operate cloud and hybrid infrastructure workloads primarily within Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365.
- Support availability, security and performance of cloud platforms supporting critical business systems.
- Contribute to cloud migration, modernisation and optimisation activities, including identity, networking and platform integration.
- Implement automation and infrastructure‑as‑code approaches to improve consistency, reliability and operational efficiency.
- Support and maintain on‑prem infrastructure services including Windows Server and virtualised platforms (VMware ESXi).
- Manage hybrid dependencies between cloud services and on‑prem platforms, including storage, backup and identity services.
- Contribute to infrastructure refresh, patching, hardening and remediation activities as required.
- Deliver resilience, backup and disaster recovery improvements across cloud and hybrid platforms.
- Resolve incidents spanning cloud and on‑prem environments and perform root‑cause analysis.
Skills and Experience Required:
- Demonstrated experience delivering cloud and hybrid infrastructure services in complex environments.
- Strong hands‑on experience with Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 platforms.
- Solid foundational skills in Windows Server, Active Directory and virtualisation (VMware ESXi).
- Experience supporting high‑availability, mission‑critical systems.
- Strong troubleshooting, incident response and documentation skills.
Location and Contract Term: This role can be based in the ACT. Hybrid working arrangements, 3 days in office/2 days WFH. 12 month contract with 2 x 12 month contract extension options pending budget and delegate approval.
Security Requirements: Applicants must be Australian Citizens and hold a NV1 security clearance.
