About the Role
An exciting opportunity is available for a Senior Cyber Security & Risk Engineer to support and enhance cyber security operations across a complex ICT landscape.
You will be responsible for managing the operational lifecycle of security technologies, driving secure-by-design initiatives, and improving the organisation’s overall security posture through proactive risk management and engineering best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end operational lifecycle of cyber security services across mission-critical systems
- Oversee and ensure timely resolution of incidents, service requests, and change activities
- Maintain and enforce security configurations, policies, and operational procedures
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify, assess, and mitigate ICT security risks and vulnerabilities
- Develop and implement security architectures, engineering patterns, and technical standards
- Drive secure-by-design practices across infrastructure, cloud, and applications
- Lead and contribute to cyber security uplift and continuous improvement initiatives
- Evaluate and implement security technologies and tools aligned to organisational needs
- 10+ years experience in cyber security engineering within complex enterprise environments
- Proven experience implementing security controls across infrastructure, cloud, and application layers
- Strong knowledge of cyber security principles, frameworks, and standards
- Hands-on exposure to security tooling and enterprise technologies
- Strong problem-solving and ability to operate in highly complex ICT environments
- Experience working within federal government environments
- Experience in Agile delivery environments
- Strong focus on mentoring, knowledge sharing, and team uplift initiatives
- Must hold an active NV2 security clearance
- Must be based in Canberra or Melbourne with the ability to work on-site in Ballarat
- Long-term 3-year contract engagement
