About the Role
We are seeking two experienced Senior Cyber Security Software Developers to join a high-impact program focused on delivering advanced cyber capabilities. In this role, you will:
  • Lead and oversee software development projects within an Agile environment.
  • Design, build, integrate, and document software solutions that meet complex business requirements.
  • Maintain and enhance existing applications, ensuring security and reliability.
  • Drive continuous improvement and knowledge sharing within the team.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to refine user requirements and deliver quality outcomes.
This is a 12-month engagement with two 12-month extension options, based in Canberra, ACT. Flexible working arrangements may be negotiated.
 
The Successful Candidate
To be considered, you must:
  • Be an Australian citizen with a current NV2 security clearance.
  • Demonstrate strong experience in:
    • Python development and Agile methodologies.
    • Building, deploying, and maintaining applications using AWS services (EC2, Lambda, S3).
    • CI/CD pipelines using GitLab and GitLab Runners.
    • Open-source Cyber Threat Intelligence Sharing tools and formats (e.g., MISP, TAXII).
  • Show capability to take technical responsibility across all stages of development.
 
Desirable skills include:
  • Leadership in release planning and risk assessment.
  • Experience with Apache NiFi for data processing pipelines.
  • Previous work in secure government environments.
  • A relevant degree in Cyber Security or Software Development.
 
Candidates must also be willing to undergo an Organisational Suitability Assessment (OSA) prior to engagement.

Location: The role is based in Canberra ACT.
Contract terms: 12 months from commencement date, plus potential extensions
SFIA level required: The Specified Person will be expected to demonstrate attributes of SFIA Level of Responsibility 4-5.
Security Requirements: Must be an Australian Citizen with a current Negative Vetting 2 (NV2) security clearance. Candidates with a current Defence Intelligence Agency recognised Organisational Suitability Assessment (OSA) are highly preferred.
