The end client is a large, highly regulated enterprise operating critical data and reporting systems. This role sits within a business-critical technology function supporting complex data-driven applications, nightly batch processes, and governance-led delivery across cross-functional squads.
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Developer to support the development, testing, and ongoing improvement of data-driven applications and batch processing pipelines. You will work across SQL-based components and modern data platforms, ensuring delivery aligns with change management, quality assurance, and engineering standards.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on engineering, solving complex batch and data issues, and collaborating closely with business users, QA, and engineering teams in a structured enterprise environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, test, and support applications in line with change, problem management, and quality assurance processes.
- Build and maintain SQL-based components, including stored procedures, ETL pipelines, and batch jobs.
- Develop SQL-based data processes and ETL components using tools such as SSIS / JEF / Control‑M(where applicable).
- Prepare and maintain system and program documentation.
- Support analysis and design of application programs and databases.
- Troubleshoot application logic, batch failures, and data inconsistencies.
- Perform or support SIT, UAT, and regression testing for application releases.
- Liaise with business users, engineering teams, and QA to deliver reliable outcomes.
- Adhere to enterprise methodologies, tools, governance, and delivery standards.
- Support both development and test activities as needed and contribute to continuous improvement.
- 5+ years’ experience in programming or data-driven application development.
- Strong SQL capability with a strong Snowflake development background.
- Proven ability to translate design specifications into robust implementation outcomes.
- Strong troubleshooting skills across batch failures, data inconsistencies, and application logic.
- Experience working within governance-led delivery environments and adapting to changing priorities.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Experience with ETL / batch orchestration tools such as SSIS, Control‑M, JEF.
- Experience supporting critical nightly batch processes or regulatory reporting environments.
- Exposure to cloud-based data engineering.
- Python or automation scripting experience.
- Exposure to relevant treasury/capital markets concepts (e.g., FTP, Liquidity, IRRBB, ALM).
- Knowledge and experience applying AI tools (e.g., Copilot) within the engineering process.
