Infrastructure Engineers implement, manage and retire the infrastructure (including physical, virtual, networking and cloud infrastructure) that supports digital services.
The Collaboration and Messaging Senior Infrastructure Engineering Expert drives and leads the provisioning of a robust ICT capability while ensuring the security of the day-to-day technical operations. The position provides broad technical support for project build, test, and solution deployment activities across a wide range of Microsoft technologies. The Senior Infrastructure Engineering Expert will oversee the section technical deliverables including the identification and delivery of automation activities to enable service auto-provisioning and vulnerability management.
The Collaboration and Messaging Senior Infrastructure Engineering Expert will have an in depth understanding of the agency’s Exchange/Messaging landscape and the components undergoing or being affected by any project and/or change within your remit. You must have demonstrated experience and ability in programming best practice and undertake technical research and analysis to drive the design and development of high-quality solutions in support of business and technical requirements.
Key duties and responsibilities
- Perform high level analysis of technical requirements, including impact and risk analysis and reporting on technical feasibility to support project evaluation with proposed solutions and oversee associated team contributions to cost analysis activities.
- Undertake technical design and development of highly complex custom solutions and/or standard conversion and migration solutions.
- Work with Enterprise and Product Architects, consider market trends, ensure compliance with endorsed software development methodologies, influence and contribute to ICT strategies, resolving conflicts as needed.
- Operates with a high level of autonomy, and decision-making highly dependent on their own judgement.
- Perform a leadership role, identify, and drive innovation, manage and lead change, and have an active role in contributing to and implementing the agency’s strategic direction.
- Minimum 5 years demonstrated experience in design, integration, and supporting: Microsoft 365 Suite; including MS Teams; and/or Exchange Online, PowerShell scripting, Automation, and Mobile Device Management.
- Minimum 10 years’ experience with Exchange / Email Messaging platforms
- Minimum 5 years demonstrated experience with Microsoft M365 especially Exchange Online and hybrid Exchange, Microsoft Entra ID, and Microsoft Purview
- Highly developed Exchange technical skills and the ability to focus on end-to-end solutions in collaboration with key stakeholders.
Contract - 12 months Contract with 2 x 12 month extension
Location - Canberra and Hybrid - 3 days a week
