About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Linux Engineer to join a geographically dispersed team delivering high-quality platform services across Australia.
In this role, you will be responsible for managing and enhancing Linux-based infrastructure. You will contribute to both operational support and project delivery, ensuring systems remain secure, reliable, and optimised.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing and administering Linux systems to ensure performance, availability, and security
- Designing, implementing, and maintaining Linux-based infrastructure solutions
- Supporting incidents and service requests while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction
- Leading and contributing to projects such as system upgrades, vulnerability management, and enterprise application delivery
- Developing automation and monitoring solutions to improve efficiency and system performance
- Ensuring compliance with security standards and frameworks (including ISM and Essential 8)
- Maintaining accurate documentation and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives
- This role requires someone who is self-driven, forward-thinking, and comfortable working collaboratively in a remote team environment.
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
- Technical capability
- Strong experience administering Linux environments
- Proven experience in infrastructure design, engineering, and support
- Knowledge of automation, monitoring, and system optimisation practices
- Understanding of security and compliance frameworks within enterprise environments
- 5+ years’ experience in IT engineering, Linux support, or related roles
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Information Technology or equivalent experience
- Linux certifications are highly regarded
- Strong collaboration and communication skills across distributed teams
- Customer-focused mindset with commitment to service excellence
- Ability to manage competing priorities and adapt to changing environments
- A proactive approach to innovation and continuous improvement
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships and work effectively with stakeholders
- Initial 12-month contract with extension options
- Hybrid working arrangements across multiple Australian locations

- A balance of operational support and project-based work (approximately 50/50)
- Exposure to emerging technologies and continuous improvement initiatives
- Australian citizenship is required
- A current Baseline security clearance
