About the Role
The Department is seeking a Senior Power Platform Engineer
who will have the responsibility for designing and delivering solutions across the Microsoft Power Platform and Dynamics 365 ecosystem, enabling agency business capability through low-code application development, process automation, and self-service analytics. Operating at SFIA Level 5, the contractor will build model-driven and canvas Power Apps, develop Power Automate cloud and desktop flows, author Power BI semantic models and reports, and configure Dynamics 365 environments. The role encompasses full Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) governance — environment strategy, managed solutions, and pipeline deployment — and ensures all solutions comply with ISM controls and Essential Eight maturity requirements. The contractor will support business-as-usual operations and contribute to knowledge transfer to build enduring agency capability.
Skills and Experience Required:
1.5+ years of hands-on Microsoft Power Platform experience: Power Apps (canvas and model-driven), Power Automate, Power BI, and Power Pages. Experience working within a Landing Zone construct
2.Demonstrated Dataverse expertise: data modelling, security roles, business rules, plug-ins, custom connectors, and solution management
3.Dynamics 365 configuration and customisation experience in at least one module (Customer Service, Field Service, or equivalent)
4.Power BI (Desktop and Service): report authoring, DAX, semantic modelling, row-level security, deployment pipelines, and dataflows
5.Power Platform ALM: environment strategy, managed solutions, and CI/CD pipeline integration (Azure DevOps)
6.Experience working within government or highly regulated environments, with understanding of ISM controls and Essential Eight requirements
Desireable:
1.Microsoft Power Platform certifications: PL-200, PL-400, PL-600, or PL-300
2.Microsoft Dynamics 365 certifications: MB-210, MB-240, or equivalent module-specific credential
3.Microsoft Copilot Studio: bot design, topic authoring, entity extraction, and channel integration
4.Azure integration services: Logic Apps, Azure Functions, and Service Bus for hybrid integration scenarios
