About the role

Step into a senior role where you’ll shape high‑impact procurement outcomes across major digital transformation initiatives. As a trusted partner to leaders and project teams, you’ll provide expert procurement guidance, manage end‑to‑end processes, and ensure alignment with the Commonwealth’s procurement framework. You’ll collaborate closely with finance, legal, and procurement specialists, support planning and documentation, oversee contract and invoice management, and build strong relationships with vendors and internal stakeholders. This role suits a proactive professional who thrives in a collaborative environment, brings sound judgement to complex procurement challenges, and consistently delivers high‑quality work within tight timeframes.

Role Responsibilities

 
As a Senior Procurement Officer(APS6 Equivalent) you will work under limited guidance and perform some or all of the following duties:
  • Provide procurement guidance and advice to Digital Transformation Program and other areas as required on complex procurement and contract management in accordance with Government legislation and
  • Facilitate procurement processes for new and extension/variation, including preparing procurement documentation and managing approach to market processes.
  • Ensure all process documents are kept up to date, maintained and stored in a central document repository.
  • Provide advice and assist on transactional contract management activities as required for day-to-day management of contracts and vendor relationship management, including facilitating payment of invoices.
  • Develop and maintain key relationships with internal teams, business stakeholders and external entities to continue to shape the overall delivery of services.

Essential criteria  
  • Demonstrated experience working in procurement in Commonwealth Entities and a strong understanding of the Commonwealth Government procurement framework.
  • Demonstrated experience undertaking end-to-end procurement that includes reviewing, drafting and providing constructive advice on procurement plans, approval minutes, contracts and evaluation reports.
  • Engage and work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, including the ability to communicate, influence, negotiate and manage change.
  • Experience in successfully delivering outcomes to deadline, using initiative and responding
  • Effectively manage competing priorities and strategic
 
Qualifications and Experience
  • Certificate IV in Government Procurement & Contracts and experience in Finance/Technology
