About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Officer to support the delivery of complex technical integration projects for Defence Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) capabilities. This role involves managing day-to-day project operations, breaking down large initiatives into actionable work packages, and ensuring successful delivery from concept to completion. Responsibilities include:
- Coordinating and maintaining project documentation.
- Supporting project planning, scheduling, and resource allocation.
- Managing risks, issues, and stakeholder communications.
- Providing advice on capability proposals and contributing to reviews and audits.
To excel in this role, you will be a highly organised, outcome-focused professional with strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills. You must demonstrate:
- Expertise in portfolio, programme, and project support (Level 5).
- Strong stakeholder relationship management (Level 4).
- Solid business administration capabilities (Level 4).
- Ability to work collaboratively and build productive relationships.
- Initiative and problem-solving skills to progress work effectively.
- Opportunity to contribute to nationally significant projects in a high-impact environment.
- Initial 12-month engagement with potential for up to 3 years.
- Flexible working arrangements within a collaborative team culture.
- Competitive daily rate commensurate with experience.
Candidates must also be willing to undergo an Organisational Suitability Assessment (OSA) prior to engagement.

Location: The role is based in Canberra ACT.
Contract terms: 12 months from commencement date, plus potential extensions
SFIA level required: The Specified Person will be expected to demonstrate attributes of SFIA Level of Responsibility 5.
Security Requirements: Current Top-Secret Positive Vetting (TSPV) security clearance is strongly preferred, however candidates who have held a TSPV in the previous 12-month period (which has since been downgraded) may be considered. An OSA(Organisational Suitability Assessment) will be required for this position.
