About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior System Administrator (EL1 equivalent) to support the delivery and ongoing operation of secure, high-availability platforms in Linux and AWS environments. This role involves system administration, security implementation, automation, and performance monitoring to ensure reliability and compliance.
Key responsibilities include:
- Administer and maintain Linux-based systems, including patching and performance tuning.
- Manage AWS infrastructure (EC2, Lambda, S3, backups) to ensure availability and security.
- Implement and maintain security controls aligned with organisational policies.
- Develop and enhance procedures for continuous improvement.
- Document technical processes and promote knowledge sharing within the team.
To be considered, you must:
- Be an Australian Citizen with a current NV2 security clearance.
- Have extensive experience in:
- Administering Red Hat Enterprise Linux systems.
- Deploying and maintaining AWS services (EC2, Lambda, S3).
- Using automation tools (Ansible, Semaphore).
- Monitoring and logging with Grafana and ELK stack.
- Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills in production environments.
- Experience with Apache NiFi clusters.
- Familiarity with Essential Eight security controls.
- Database administration (MySQL, DynamoDB).
- Experience in secure government environments.

Contract terms: 12 months from commencement date, plus potential extensions
SFIA level required: The Specified Person will be expected to demonstrate attributes of SFIA Level of Responsibility 5.
Security Requirements: Be an Australian Citizen with a minimum NV2 security clearance (TSPV highly desirable). An OSA(Organisational Suitability Assessment) will be required for this position.
