The Department is seeking the services of up to 2x Technical Drawing Officers to be part of a small team managing the departments holdings and databases of floor plans, construction, ICT, and security drawings held on the classified ICT system. These databases are managed utilising AutoCad software. Other duties require the operation and maintenance of large format printing systems producing presentations and story boards for Departmental Executive and staff.
Key duties and responsibilities
The Technical Drawing Officers will:
- Lead a small team in managing the departments holdings and databases of floor plans, construction, ICT and security drawings.
- Review designs for completeness, building standards and constructability compliance, drawing upon professional expert advice from subject matter experts as required.
- Provide strategic and technical advice and guidance.
- Ensure a sufficient pipeline of external consultancy design services and coordinate its allocation across the planning portfolio to ensure resources scale up and down as required to meet need and demand.
Essential criteria
1. Must be able to interpret communications drawings, mark-ups and architectural files/drawings/floor plans.
2.Must be able to interpret photos and turn them into a technical drawing.
3.Must have a minimum active Negative Vetting Level 2 (NV2) security clearance.
4.Must have high level knowledge and skill in AutoCAD.
Contract: 12 Month Contract with 2 x 12 months extension
Security Required: NV2 Security Clearance required
Location- Canberra based
