About the End Client
You will be supporting a major organisation operating within a highly regulated infrastructure and utilities environment, focused on delivering reliable and customer-centric services across a large-scale network.
Role Overview
Define and guide the end-to-end solution architecture, ensuring alignment with business objectives, enterprise standards, and technology strategy. Provides technical leadership across design and delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Define solution architecture across: Applications, data, integration, and infrastructure
- Estimation and delivery planning for data modernisation, eg solution decomposition and work defining packages
- Translate business requirements into: Scalable, secure, and maintainable solution designs
- Lead design activities: High-level architecture, detailed design, and technology selection
- Ensure alignment with: Enterprise architecture standards and governance
- Define integration patterns and data flows across systems
- Provide technical leadership to delivery teams: Developers, engineers, and testers
- Work within Agile delivery models:
- Support architecture governance: Design reviews, approvals, and compliance
- Identify and manage technical risks and dependencies
- Strong architecture experience in Energy & Utilities
- Strong Leadership and Stakeholder Managment
- Experience with: Data platforms, system integration, and cloud architectures
- Experience working in Agile environments with iterative solution design and delivery
- Strong understanding of: Data modelling, APIs, and distributed systems
- Ability to balance strategic architecture with pragmatic delivery
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
Desired Attributes and Skills:
- Data Platforms & Analytics: Snowflake, Databricks, Azure Synapse, Azure Data Factory
- Data Engineering & Transformation: DBT, Informatica (PowerCenter / IICS), Apache Spark
- Cloud Platforms: Microsoft Azure (preferred), AWS or GCP (desirable)
- Machine Learning / Advanced Analytics: Azure ML, Python (Pandas, SciPy), ML frameworks
- Integration & APIs: REST APIs, microservices architecture, event-driven patterns
- Databases: Oracle, SQL Server, cloud-native data warehouses
- DevOps & Delivery: CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, Git), infrastructure as code
