The Role:
We are seeking a hands-on IT Solution Designer to lead the design and implementation of an integrated change management automation solution using ServiceNow DevOps Change Velocity and Azure DevOps.
The successful candidate will:
• Design and implement workflows and business logic in ServiceNow to support automated ITIL Normal change requests triggered via Azure DevOps pipelines.
• Collaborate with IT Service Management (ITSM) stakeholders to define risk-based approval logic, automated scheduling, and deployment triggers.
• Ensure change request outcomes (success/failure) are accurately reflected in ServiceNow, including automated closure or triggering of manual review.
• Contribute to updates of policy and procedure documentation to support the new automated change process.
• Support customisation of Azure DevOps test plans to enable risk-based decision logic (e.g., test case criticality and pass rates).
• Navigate complex stakeholder environments, particularly within traditionally change-averse areas, and advocate for automation and risk-based approaches.
Skills and Experience Required:
We’re looking for someone who can:
• Lead solution design activities across ServiceNow and Azure DevOps platforms.
• Work collaboratively with technical and business stakeholders to define sustainable, scalable solutions.
• Communicate effectively with change management stakeholders and influence outcomes through evidence-based reasoning.
• Document solution intent, workflows, business logic, and associated risks clearly and concisely.
Core Skills & Experience:
• Hands-on experience with ServiceNow DevOps Change Velocity module and its integration with Azure DevOps or another DevOps platform.
• Strong understanding of ITIL change management processes and automation opportunities.
• Experience designing and implementing business logic and workflows in ServiceNow.
• Familiarity with Azure DevOps pipelines and test plans, including customisation for risk-based logic.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, especially in environments resistant to change.
• Ability to produce high-quality design documentation and contribute to policy/procedure updates.
Location and Contract Term: This role is based in Canberra, Brisbane, Melbourne or Adelaide. 6 month contract with 3 x 6-month extension option pending budget and delegate approval.
Security Requirements: Applicants must be Australian Citizens and hold a Baseline security clearance
