Our client is a major public safety organisation undergoing significant digital transformation. The Critical Network Program is a multi-tranche initiative designed to modernise and secure the organisation's entire network architecture, supporting operational readiness and future technology needs.
About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Solution Implementation Engineer to support the deployment of complex network solutions across a large-scale, multi-year transformation program. Working closely with Principal Network Specialists, Architects, and Engineering teams, you will translate high-level technical designs into practical implementation activities, contributing directly to the delivery of secure, stable, and fit-for-purpose network outcomes.
This is an exciting long-term contract through 28 February 2027, with extension potential, offering the opportunity to work on a major state-wide network uplift initiative.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the implementation of network technical solutions based on approved high-level and low-level designs.
- Validate technical designs and contribute to build and configuration activities.
- Ensure implementation aligns with architecture standards, business requirements, and program objectives.
- Assist with transitioning services from legacy infrastructure to modern platforms while maintaining operational continuity.
- Manage multiple concurrent implementation streams across program tranches.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during critical deployments.
- Liaise with vendors and internal teams to resolve dependencies and integration challenges.
- Work collaboratively across engineering, operations, architecture, and project teams.
- Supporting service transition from complex legacy environments while maintaining continuity of critical services.
- Balancing competing technical priorities across several concurrent workstreams.
- Troubleshooting deployment issues under tight project timeframes.
- Ensuring complete alignment between design intent and implemented outcomes.
- Managing integration challenges across diverse technologies and teams.
- Proven experience as a Network Engineer or Network Solutions Specialist in enterprise-scale environments.
- Hands-on experience implementing:
- Cisco SD-WAN
- Cisco SD-Access
- Cisco DNA Center (DNAC)
- Cisco Firepower
- Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE)
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, and related protocols.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with Architects, Senior Engineers, and Operations teams.
- Knowledge of network security principles and best practices.
- Experience working with Azure/AWS network architectures.
- Experience with SASE solution architecture and implementation.
- Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science or related field; industry certifications (CCNA/CCNP/CCIE) highly regarded.

- Must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident, or New Zealand Citizen.
- Long-term contract through February 2027 with strong extension potential.
