About the Role
Our client is seeking experienced System Administrator / Infrastructure Engineers to implement, manage and sustain the physical, virtual, networking and cloud infrastructure supporting critical digital services.
 
Key responsibilities will include:
  • Designing and implementing secure, scalable and compliant cross-domain solutions
  • Installing and de-installing hardware and software
  • Configuring and sustaining Linux-based servers, network devices and supporting services
  • Monitoring system performance, reliability and security
  • Applying patches, updates and vendor mitigations across applications, operating systems, drivers and firmware
  • Using automation tools to prepare, configure and replicate system builds
  • Troubleshooting complex and unpredictable infrastructure issues
  • Providing technical advice on the effective use of infrastructure assets
  • Contributing to the continuous improvement of systems development processes and practices
  • Collaborating with technical teams to address non-routine and contingency requirements
 
The Successful Candidate
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
  • Strong experience configuring and sustaining Linux-based ICT infrastructure
  • Experience supporting servers, network devices, system monitoring and authentication services
  • Hands-on experience using automation tools such as Ansible to prepare and replicate system builds
  • Experience managing Cross Domain Solutions and contributing to the development of new solutions
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain reliable ICT infrastructure through configuration automation, upgrades, patching and monitoring
  • Experience using version control systems within an infrastructure environment
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to resolve unpredictable technical problems
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills within multidisciplinary technical teams
  • Experience developing scripts or small programs using Python or Bash will be highly regarded
Candidates must also be willing to undergo an Organisational Suitability Assessment (OSA) prior to engagement.

Location: The role is based in Canberra ACT, Melbourne VIC, Adelaide SA.
Contract terms: 12 months from commencement date, plus 2x 12 month extensions
Experience Level: APS6 Equivalent
Security Requirements: Candidates must hold an active or reactivatable Top Secret Positive Vetting (TSPV) Security Clearance on submission. Our client is not looking to upgrade an existing clearance for this position. An OSA(Organisational Suitability Assessment) will be required for this position.
