The IT Systems Analyst designs and analyses systems to meet business and technical requirements, ensuring alignment with approved architectures, standards, and performance constraints. The role translates concepts into detailed designs, models, and specifications for implementation and verification, evaluating options and conducting impact analysis.
Working across predictive and agile lifecycles, the Analyst collaborates with Product Owners, architects, and delivery teams to define functional and non-functional requirements, refine backlogs, and plan releases. Responsibilities include maintaining system documentation, supporting large-scale deployments, resolving minor issues, and contributing to continuous improvement through effective collaboration, problem-solving, and ensuring solutions balance functionality, quality, and feasibility
Key duties and responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Product Owners to plan and prioritize features, ensuring backlog items are well-defined and ready for development.
- Proven experience to translate business needs into functional and non-functional requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria in partnership with the Scrum team.
- Maintain backlog health, including elaboration of user stories, iteration planning, and dependency identification.
- Act as the bridge between product, architecture, and delivery teams, ensuring technical feasibility and alignment with solution intent.
- Experience in large scale IT Projects in release planning by providing clarity on scope, dependencies, and delivery expectations.
- Identify and extract technical and functional requirements from use cases and user stories, ensuring completeness and traceability.
- Create and maintain system documentation, including operational guides, UI specifications, test cases, and integration details.
- Proactively mitigate impediments impacting delivery by facilitating communication and resolving ambiguities.
- Contribute to continuous improvement by sharing insights on process efficiency, requirement quality, and team collaboration.
Location and Contract Term: This role can be done in ACT, VIC or QLD . 12 -month contract with extension options pending budget and delegate approval.
Security Requirements: Applicants must be Australian Citizens and hold a baseline security clearance.
