About the role:
We are seeking an experienced Technical Architect with deep expertise in Java/Spring Boot microservices, ReactJS, and AWS cloud services. You’ll play a key role in defining end-to-end architecture, driving best practices, and mentoring technical teams to deliver robust, distributed applications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define end-to-end architecture for full stack applications using Spring Boot microservices, ReactJS, and AWS.
- Ensure modularity, scalability, and performance optimisation across all layers.
- Champion best practices in microservices design, including service decomposition, API gateway integration, and fault tolerance.
- Actively code and review complex modules in Java/Spring Boot, ReactJS, and AWS integrations.
- Implement and maintain distributed microservices, RESTful APIs, and cloud-native patterns.
- Ensure seamless integration between front-end and back-end services.
- Architect and deploy microservices leveraging AWS services (EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, API Gateway, IAM).
- Optimise cloud resource usage and ensure high availability and resilience.
- Drive CI/CD pipelines, containerisation (Docker/Kubernetes), and infrastructure automation using Terraform/CloudFormation.
- Promote observability and monitoring across microservices.
- Guide technical teams, enforce engineering standards, and conduct architecture reviews.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to align technical solutions with business objectives.
- Minimum 10+ years in full stack development, with at least 3–5 years in an architect or senior architect role.
- Expert-level proficiency in Java/J2EE, Spring Boot, Hibernate, and RESTful API development.
- Proven experience designing and deploying distributed microservices, including service orchestration, API security, and inter-service communication.
- Advanced ReactJS (Hooks, Redux, Context API), HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6+).
- Advanced AWS expertise (EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, API Gateway, IAM).
- Experience with DevOps tools: CI/CD (Jenkins/GitLab), Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform/CloudFormation.
- Database expertise: SQL and NoSQL (MySQL, PostgreSQL, DynamoDB).
- Familiarity with testing frameworks: JUnit, Mockito, and automated testing strategies.
- Hands-on experience in Spring Boot microservices, cloud-native application design, enterprise-scale deployments, and legacy modernisation.
This is a contract role based in Melbourne, with a duration of 6 months and immediate start available. You’ll play a key role in delivering robust, secure, and innovative full stack solutions in a dynamic enterprise environment. The daily rate for this role is 600–650 AUD.
