About the role
An opportunity exists for an experienced Senior Technical Business Analyst (EL1 equivalent) to join a high‑profile government digital transformation program. This role supports the delivery of complex ICT initiatives and works closely with business leaders, technical specialists, and delivery teams to ensure requirements are clearly defined, documented, and translated into effective technical solutions.
The role offers exposure to enterprise systems, cloud platforms, and integrated environments within a large federal government setting.
Role Responsibilities
- Work closely with program, business and technical stakeholders to discover, define, validate, prioritise and manage requirements
- Translate complex business and technical concepts into clear, concise documentation
- Facilitate workshops and lead end‑to‑end business analysis activities
- Develop and manage artefacts including business process models, solution requirements, data models and backlog items
- Support Agile and traditional delivery approaches, including backlog refinement
- Assist project managers and delivery teams to translate requirements into deliverables
- Support documentation of systems and solutions across the delivery lifecycle
- Provide evidence‑based recommendations for enhancements and improvements
- Support integration and maintenance of internal, staff‑facing systems
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a senior or technical business analyst role
- Strong experience facilitating workshops and delivering complex ICT initiatives
- Proven ability to engage technical SMEs and simplify complex concepts
- At least 3 years’ experience working with cloud platforms(AWS and/or Azure preferred)
- Experience supporting enterprise internal systems(e.g. ERP, recruitment, learning or performance systems)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work autonomously, adapt quickly, and manage competing priorities
- Experience working across both Agile and Waterfall delivery environment
- Initial 12‑month contract with a 12‑month extension option
- EL1‑equivalent senior contract role
- Hybrid working arrangements (minimum 3 days onsite)
- Locations available across ACT, NSW, VIC, QLD, SA, WA, NT and TAS
- Opportunity to contribute to nationally significant government programs
