About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Technical Team Lead to provide day-to-day leadership of a systems administration and maintenance function supporting a complex enterprise environment. Acting as the second-in-command to the Maintenance Lead, you will play a pivotal role in coordinating technical teams, driving service delivery outcomes, and ensuring contractual obligations are consistently achieved.
The position combines people leadership, operational oversight, incident coordination, and stakeholder engagement, making it ideal for someone who enjoys balancing technical understanding with team and service management responsibilities.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading daily operational activities, workload allocation, sprint planning, and ticket management.
- Monitoring team capacity and resource utilisation to ensure service levels and contractual commitments are met.
- Coordinating incident response activities and supporting the management of critical and major incidents.
- Facilitating stakeholder communications and providing operational updates during service disruptions.
- Supporting post-incident reviews and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
- Compiling and analysing operational performance metrics and governance reporting.
- Ensuring changes are delivered in accordance with established change management frameworks.
- Acting as the Maintenance Lead during periods of leave or absence and representing the team at governance forums and client engagements.
The Successful Candidate
To be successful in this role, you will be a confident technical leader with a strong background in enterprise ICT operations and service delivery. You will be comfortable leading teams through operational challenges, coordinating technical resources, and engaging with both engineering teams and senior stakeholders.
You will bring:
- Demonstrated experience in a Team Lead, Technical Lead, or 2IC position within a large-scale enterprise environment.
- Strong experience managing IT service delivery and incident response within an ITIL-aligned framework.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical challenges into meaningful business outcomes.
- Experience working within Defence, National Security, Intelligence, or other highly regulated environments.
- A solid understanding of enterprise infrastructure technologies, including Windows, Linux, Active Directory, virtualisation, endpoint management, and container platforms.
- The ability to lead teams, manage competing priorities, and maintain performance in a high-tempo operational environment.

Security Requirements: Candidates must hold an active or reactivatable Top Secret Positive Vetting (TSPV) Security Clearance on submission. Our client is not looking to upgrade an existing clearance for this position. An OSA(Organisational Suitability Assessment) will be required for this position.
