About the role:
An opportunity exists for a Test Consultant – MPO to be responsible for planning, designing and executing testing activities across SAP and related applications within the MPO environment. The role ensures quality delivery of solutions using industry testing standards, supporting project teams, and working closely with business stakeholders to validate functional and technical outcomes. The consultant will contribute to the end‑to‑end testing lifecycle, provide specialist advice, and uphold compliance with Australian Government security and assurance requirements.
Mandatory Requirements:
- Be an Australian citizen with an active NV1 AGSVA clearance. Active Baseline will be considered.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field. Equivalent professional experience can also be considered in lieu of a degree.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop test strategies, test plans and test cases aligned with project and solution requirements
- Perform system testing, integration testing, regression testing and user acceptance testing support
- Identify, document and manage defects through resolution, ensuring traceability
- Support business stakeholders and SMEs with testing preparation and execution
- Provide specialist testing advice across SAP modules and broader MPO systems
- Contribute to test automation approaches where applicable
- Prepare and maintain testing documentation and evidence to compliance standards
- Collaborate with functional consultants, technical teams and program leads to ensure solution quality
- Support release management and cutover testing activities
- Ensure adherence to security, governance and quality frameworks used across Australian Government programs
The Successful Candidate
- Demonstrated experience as a Test Consultant within SAP environments
- Strong understanding of end‑to‑end testing processes and methodologies
- Experience producing test artefacts including test strategies, plans and traceability matrices
- Ability to identify and manage defects in structured defect management tools
- Experience working in large‑scale transformation or multi‑system integration programs
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams and business stakeholders
- Strong communication, documentation and stakeholder engagement skills
- Experience in Australian Government or regulated industries is an advantage
- Experience with SAP test automation or similar tools (preferred)
- SAP or testing certification (eg ISTQB) is preferred
