About the Role
An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Windows Systems Integration Specialist to join a highly skilled technical team based in Canberra.
In this permanent position, you will be responsible for the design, build, configuration, security hardening and testing of Windows-based systems. Working closely with engineering, security and technical teams, you will deliver secure, reliable and supportable solutions that meet operational and security requirements.
Key responsibilities include:
- Building, configuring and maintaining Windows server and workstation environments
- Administering Active Directory, Group Policy and Windows security controls
- Implementing system hardening and security baseline configurations
- Applying operating system updates, patches and configuration changes
- Troubleshooting software, system and integration issues
- Supporting testing, quality assurance and compliance activities
- Integrating Windows platforms with network, security and application components
- Developing automated and repeatable system build processes
- Producing technical documentation, procedures and configuration guides
- Collaborating with technical teams and stakeholders to deliver successful outcomes
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
- Demonstrated experience administering Windows Server and desktop environments
- Strong knowledge of Windows configuration, management and troubleshooting
- Hands-on experience with Active Directory, Group Policy and Windows Defender
- Experience implementing secure system configurations and hardening controls
- Knowledge of Windows networking, authentication and system services
- Familiarity with security frameworks such as ISM, NIST, CIS Benchmarks, STIGs or similar
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience producing technical documentation and system build guides
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
