The Role:
The Department has a requirement for up to three (3) Technical Team Leaders to lead physical security installations at various Australian overseas missions.
The proposed installation schedule will be demanding, and the Specified Personnel will be required to travel overseas for a significant amount of time.

The Department has a requirement for up to three (3) Technical Team Leaders to lead physical security installations at various Australian overseas missions.
The proposed installation schedule will be demanding, and the Specified Personnel will be required to travel overseas for a significant amount of time.
Key Duties:
- Perform site surveys at Australian missions to document upgrade requirements for all security infrastructure (including alarms, access control, CCTV, and public screening equipment).
- Complete pre-installation activities in Canberra (installation plans, hardware procurement, logistics and freight etc.).
- Strong stakeholder engagement to assist in the planning and completion of the installation.
- Complete Post Relocations / New Post Installations and Type 1A Alarm / Electronic Access Control installations at Post including:
- Decommission and removal of existing legacy alarms, including Type 1 systems;
- Installation of new alarm systems, predominately Gallagher Type 1A systems;
- Upgrade of access control systems;
- Undertake cabling and conduit work; and
- Provide training to staff and commission installation, including provision of test sheets.
- Update site plans, as-builts, technical drawings, and other installation/training documentation.
- Work under limited supervision, including planning, prioritising and organising work for self to achieve deadlines.
- Other duties as required by Project Manager.
Skills and Experience Required:
- Mandatory
- Good interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Demonstrated ability to work individually and as part of a team.
- Proven ability to lead a team.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision in adverse or high stress environments.
- Open Cabling Registration with Fibre and Structured Cabling Endorsement
- WHS White Card
- Working Safely at Heights
- Working in Confined Spaces
- Asbestos Awareness Certification
- First Aid
- Desirable
- Installation and programming of Type 1/1A Alarm Systems, including Gallagher Type 1A accreditation.
- Installation and programming of Electronic Access Control Solutions, including Gallagher Access Technician accreditation.
