About the role
In this role you will develop and implement communication and engagement strategies and activities to support infrastructure projects in the North Coast Region.
These roles provide high level communication services and advice to senior leadership, project management, technical and professional staff on community engagement, stakeholder relationships, issues, and media management.
The Stakeholder Management team is responsible for providing high-level communication advice and support to all areas of the business within North Coast Region.
The Successful Candidate
This contract is a multi-year contract running until May 2028.
Located in Buderim with a Hybrid working arrangement.

The Successful Candidate
- Proficiency building and sustaining relationships to enable the collaborative delivery of customer-focused outcomes.
- Aptitude for adjusting to evolving environments and changing expectations.
- Experience in a strategic communication or community engagement role in an environment dealing with major infrastructure projects, particularly in the civil engineering sector.
- Demonstrated capability in community engagement, executive correspondence, public relations and media.
- While qualifications are not mandatory, a degree in communications, public relations, journalism or marketing would be highly desirable.
- International Association for Public Participation (IAP2) in Engagement certification, or willingness to obtain certification independently, will also be considered favourably.
- Provide communication advice and support in the areas of communication strategy and risk assessment, stakeholder and community engagement, and media and issues management related to infrastructure projects.
- Develop and maintain ongoing key strategic relationships and networks with other government agencies, project partners, contractors, community and interest groups and internal and external clients.
- Plan, develop, implement and manage key communication activities and events as required.
- Ensure appropriate governance frameworks are maintained and adhered to in order to monitor compliance with policy, legislation, regulations, standards and procedures.
