The Role:
The Website Strategy and Management team of approximately 10 website strategy and functionality experts is located across multiple Department sites, primarily in Brisbane and Newcastle. The team manages the Department websites and website projects and facilitates better website user experiences for clients and staff through the provision of platform and content strategy, governance and guidance. We identify and prioritise improvements, delivering iterative enhancements by driving innovation in our platforms.
Key duties and responsibilities
The AI Smart Search specialist will:
• enhance how users discover content and services by leveraging machine learning (ML), natural language processing (NLP), and artificial intelligence (AI)
• lead the development and optimisation of intelligent search experiences within our Digital Experience Platform
• ensure our DXP search capabilities are fast, relevant, and adaptive, while also exploring personalisation to elevate client engagement and drive digital experiences across channels
Their focus will be on optimising the search experience driven by our Digital Experience Platform (DXP), including:
• Capability Uplift: Elevate our search and analytics function by integrating advanced search capabilities.
• Website User Experience Enhancement: Improve the overall user experience by ensuring that the Departments website’s AI smart search experience is ethical, meets user needs, accurate and robust
• Content Discoverability: Enhance the discoverability of content across external and internal search tools by optimising legacy search systems and integrating advanced/emerging search technologies, ensuring content remains findable and usable.
Skills and Experience Required:
The AI Smart Search specialist will demonstrate expertise in the AI Smart Search field and have the ability to
• Directly support the Departments Website Strategy and Management team in a Website AI Smart Search Proof of Concept using Coveo Relevance Generative Answering.
• Understand website user needs and perform data analysis to uncover patterns, behaviours and insights that can inform areas of improvement with our search experience (internal and external)
• Develop and implement AI powered learning models for the Department website.
• Fine tune/improve search response to ensure user queries are understood, relevant information is returned/presented, and results rank effectively.
• Develop processes and procedure steps to capture what and how we do things within the system.
• Form a baseline of current search experiences that can be used to assess AI Smart Search POC outcomes.
• Develop measurement frameworks/metrics that can be used to evaluate and track AI performance.
Location and Contract Term: This role is based in Melbourne, Newcastle or or Brisbane. 12 month contract with 2 x 6-month extension options pending budget and delegate approval.
Security Requirements: Applicants must be Australian Citizens. A Baseline security clearance is required or the ability to obtain.
