About the role:
The Business Analyst will drive strategic initiatives by identifying and analysing business needs, performing gap analysis, and recommending solutions to meet future-state goals. This role requires over 10 years of experience in IT consulting or similar fields, with strong skills in data mapping, SQL, and business data analysis. The Analyst will assess change impacts, ensure alignment with project scope, and work closely with stakeholders to optimize solutions. A background in big data architecture, Agile, and banking is preferred, along with exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and adaptability in dynamic environments.

- Identify and Clarify Needs: Define business opportunities, problems, and solutions with precision.
- Scope and Strategy: Summarize and refine solution scope, implementation methods, and dependencies for optimal alignment.
- Gap Analysis and Recommendations: Conduct gap analyses between current and future states, recommend actionable options.
- Change Impact Assessment: Evaluate solution impacts, ensuring alignment with scope, strategy, and project timelines.
- Requirements Alignment: Ensure requirements are correctly defined to support target business value.
- Design and Improvement: Identify solution approaches and business improvement opportunities for achieving the desired future state.
- Data Analysis for Effectiveness: Analyse data for solution accuracy, completeness, and overall effectiveness.
- Commercial Acumen: Apply strategic and commercial insights to business systems.
- Banking Sector Expertise: Strong customer domain knowledge within the banking industry.
Required Professional and Technical Expertise
- Experience: 10+ years as a Business BA or equivalent in IT consulting or tech-driven roles.
- Domain Expertise: Extensive experience in enterprise/big data projects, bridging technical and functional requirements.
- Data Mapping: Proficient in designing data flows from source to target systems, with data transformation expertise.
- SQL and Modelling: Advanced SQL skills, database modelling, including referential integrity and entity-relationship modelling.
- Big Data Architecture: Knowledgeable in big data application architecture within Agile environments.
- Communication and Stakeholder Management: Exceptional communication skills, excelling in fast-paced, dynamic settings.
- Adaptability and Proactivity: Client-oriented with a proactive mindset, flexible in meeting project demands.
- Influence and Presentation: Proven experience presenting to and influencing stakeholders and senior leaders.
- Educational Background: Degree in Computer Science, IT, or related Engineering discipline.
- Certification: Industry-recognized technology certifications or badges are advantageous.
