Our Large Federal Government client has a requirement for a The Cloud Identity Technical Lead who will be accountable under the general direction of project leadership and the Identity Management Technical Director for leading the creation of the identity service detailed design (logical architecture) and lead implementation of a suitable solution across the NIC. This will include:
- Facilitate multi-agency working groups to understand requirements, dependencies and constraints for the Identity Service design.
- Work with agencies to understand their current state and identity strategies, and make consideration for these in the architectural design.
- Ensure relevant policies and standards are addressed, and plan and design for emerging technologies (such as Zero Trust Architecture).
Skills and Knowledge:
Contract terms: Contract term of 12 months, with two 12 month extension terms at the Commonwealth’s discretion.
Security Requirements: Be an Australian Citizen holding a current Positive Vetting (PV) security clearance or have held a PV in the previous 12-month period (which has since been downgraded) OR Holds an active or reinstatable Baseline clearance or above and consents to undergo a PV clearance process upon commencement in the role.

- Skills and experience in designing and implementing cloud-based identity solutions (mandatory).
- Industry certifications and qualifications are desirable.
- Ensure all work meets agreed timeframes, quality standards and quality control measures.
- Identify and document project level risks and issues. Escalate risks and issues, and seek advice from project team leadership.
- Provide architectural guidance in the development of new and the modification to existing products and capabilities including leading the creation of solution architecture documentation for a multi-agency cloud identity service.
- Design and engineer solutions and undertake impact analysis on major design options and trade-offs.
- Provide technical guidance and governance on solution development and integration. Evaluate request for changes and deviations from specifications and recommend actions.
- Ensures that relevant technical strategies, policies, standards and practices (including security) are applied correctly.
