Seeking a Cyber Security Architects with 5 + years experience with strong understanding of Australian Government Security requirements
Job details
Security Architects design, review, test and assure the technical environment, solution designs and solution implementations in accordance with current and emerging security best practice. They contribute to the technical architecture and security policies and practices.
Key duties and responsibilities
The Cyber Security Solutions Architect will specifically undertake will the following, but is not limited:
Essential criteria
1. Minimum 5 + years continuous experience working in the IT security field and providing consulting services
2. Demonstrated IT Security Risk Assessment experience
3. Demonstrated high level technical writing skills, including authoring executive briefs (as required)
4. Demonstrated high level of knowledge of Australian Government Security requirements
5. High level knowledge and proven experience in certification practices as applicable with Australian Government standards and guidelines
6. Ability to deliver to tight timeframes
Desirable criteria
1. Strong understanding of Government policies and their application
Contract: 10 Month with 1 x 12 months extension
Security Required: NV1 Security Clearance required
Location - Canberra based, Hybrid -Office based, however flexible working arrangements may be considered and agreed upon request.

Key duties and responsibilities
The Cyber Security Solutions Architect will specifically undertake will the following, but is not limited:
- Delivering across multiple projects in accordance with the Department’s project management solutions architecture and business delivery frameworks;
- Providing security solutions architecture support to the Security sub-programme;
- Undertaking solution architecture duties as part of a project team undertaking concurrent projects under the Cyber Security program;
- Assisting in the development of high level and detailed security requirements as they relate to the Cyber Security project (People, Process and Technology);
- Developing and building achievable plans based on documented business cases, high level solution architecture and identified capabilities and products;
- Tracking and managing deliverables that relate to the enhancement of the cyber security capability and technology improvements;
- Conducting ICT security solution architecture design, development and assessments;
- Designing ICT security protections for infrastructure, middleware and business systems;
- Conducting assessments of ICT security architecture of proposed and existing solutions;
- Developing and maintaining solution architecture design documentation for security solutions;
- Managing relationships with stakeholders – both business and ICT; and
- Driving and delivering innovation to meet broader requirements.
