Our Federal Government client is currently seeking an Events and Planning Coordinator at the APS6 level, to join their team in Canberra, ACT.
The Inbound Visits Section supports inbound ministerial visits and offers guidance on other high-level visits. This section handles planning, security, protocol, and logistics for international visits, both in-person and virtual. The successful candidate will help plan, manage, and coordinate complex arrangements for various high-level inbound visits, events, and meetings. This office-based role requires interstate travel and the flexibility to work outside regular business hours.
Location and Contract Term
Canberra and 6- or 12-month fixed term contract
Security Requirements
Must hold a current NV1 or NV2 Security Clearance

Overview
- Assisting with the planning and execution of high-level inbound visits and associated event and meeting logistics, including:
- Communicating with key stakeholders
- Providing advice on protocol, gifts, flags, stationery
- Reviewing programs, transport plans, and event run sheets
- Managing venue bookings and arrangements
- Managing hospitality arrangements
- Arranging ground transport
- Managing interpreting arrangements
- Participating in/arranging advance visits
- Assisting with logistics arrangements during the visit.
- Proactively developing and maintaining productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Providing input into/draft briefing and departmental tasking, including reporting, correspondence, Senate Estimates briefs, Questions on Notice, and FOI requests.

- excellent interpersonal, communications (written and verbal), stakeholder engagement and negotiating skills
- exceptional attention to detail
