About the role
Contractor is expected to possess a thorough understanding of, and adhere to, all relevant legislative requirements, as well as the frameworks that guide government decision-making and policy development. This includes staying informed about applicable laws, regulations, and procedural standards, and ensuring that their actions and decisions align with current public sector governance principles and ethical obligations.
Role Responsibilities
- Minimum 5+ years of demonstrated experience in government procurement (Commonwealth) specifically the preparation and review of procurement documents including approval documents, requests for quote, evaluation reports, work orders and purchase orders
- Proven experience leading and managing procurement processes (e.g. ICT assets, systems integration providers, services consulting)
- Experienced in developing and managing supplier contracts and resolves problems using vendor and procurement management expertise
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience of government procurement, legislation and organisational procurement policies to conduct ICT vendor management
- Ability to prepare procurement documentation, undertake sourcing strategies, and support evaluation and client contract negotiation
- Analysing cloud spending, identifying cost savings opportunities and implementing cost optimisation strategies
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, Understands the commercial IT environment
- The contract period is 12 months, with 2X6 months extension options.
