Our Government client is looking for an experienced ICT Security Engineer (level 5) will assist project and capability teams to design and implement security functions for their project deliverables.
About the role
This will be a hands-on role specialising in systems and infrastructure security. The successful candidate will need highly effective negotiation and communication skills, and a strong background in information security, compliance assessments –including a working knowledge of international and government security compliance frameworks and standards such as the PSPF, ISM and ISO27001 among others. The program of work has multiple projects which range in size and the successful candidate may be required to work across one or more of these projects, external stakeholder teams.

Due to the nature of the work environment, our client requires candidates to hold an active TSPV Security Clearance. The successful candidate will need to undergo an additional security assessment before commencing in the role.

Role Responsibilities
- Provide advice and guidance on security strategies to manage identified risks and ensure adoption and adherence to standards.
- Obtain and act on vulnerability information and conduct security risk assessments, business impact analysis and accreditation on complex information systems.
- Investigates major breaches of security and recommend appropriate control improvements.
- Ensure security risks, business functions and priorities are considered.
- Contribute to the development of information security policy, standards and guidelines.
- Demonstrated knowledge of IT security architecture/modelling.
- Demonstrated knowledge in the design and implementation of practical solutions to information security risks and issues.
