The Role:
As a Cloud DevOps Engineer, you will be supporting the management, maintenance and security of cloud infrastructure, ensuring high availability, reliability and performance. The role includes monitoring systems, resolving technical issues, implementing disaster recovery plans and deploying scalable cloud solutions. It also encompasses tasks such as enhancing security compliance, managing access controls and encryption, and collaborating on cloud architecture and migration strategies. At this level, you will work independently on day-to-day operations while contributing to more complex tasks and strategic initiatives with guidance. We are seeking candidates who possess SFIA Level 2-3 experience for this role.

Key duties and responsibilities
- Maintain and Monitor Cloud Infrastructure Regularly oversee the cloud infrastructure to ensure optimal performance, high availability and system reliability. This includes monitoring system health, performance metrics and ensuring minimal downtime or disruptions across cloud services.
- Proactively Resolve Issues and Perform Maintenance Identify, troubleshoot and resolve any cloud infrastructure issues promptly. Perform routine system maintenance, including updates, patches and upgrades to keep systems running efficiently and securely while minimising service interruptions.
- Improve Security Compliance Implement and enforce cloud security best practices to safeguard the Agency's data and infrastructure. Continuously evaluate security measures, resolve vulnerabilities and ensure compliance with relevant security standards and regulatory requirements.
- Implement Access Controls, Encryption, Backups, and Disaster Recovery Plans Implement robust access controls to protect sensitive data. Ensure encryption of data in transit and at rest. Regularly back up systems and develop, test, and execute disaster recovery plans to ensure the quick restoration of services in the event of an outage or failure.
- Respond to Incidents and Perform Root Cause Analysis Act as the first responder to incidents, identifying their source and impact. Conduct root cause analysis to determine the underlying issues and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Ensure all incidents are properly documented, including resolutions and follow-up actions.
- Implement Scalable and Secure Cloud Solutions Design and deploy cloud solutions that are both scalable and secure, ensuring they align with business needs and growth objectives. Work closely with stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver cloud architectures that optimise performance while meeting security and compliance standards.
Skills and Experience Required:
- Experience working with Cloud platforms including design, deployment, configuration or optimisation
- Familiarity with IaaS and PaaS solutions
- Experience in IaC development such as Terraform, Ansible, AWS CDK, Azure ARM, and Kubernetes
- Experience scripting with Python and Shell Scripting
- Proficiency with Git and CI/CD pipelines to perform source code management
- Awareness of a wide range of IT skills including backups, storage, systems administration, data protection, and information security
- Enthusiastic learner comfortable working within a team environment
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal, with a keen attention to detail
