About the role:
The Legacy Systems Code Quality Analyst will be responsible for performing detailed code-level forensic analysis and reviews on legacy systems developed in Pascal and COBOL, running on OpenVMS.

What's on offer?
This contract is available for 12 weeks starting mid-May 2025. Remote and hybrid working will be considered from Australian based candidates, however you may be required to attend some client workshops onsite in Sydney.

Key Responsibilities:
- Perform detailed code level forensic reviews on legacy systems developed in Pascal and COBOL.
- Identify and document bugs and vulnerabilities.
- Provide recommendations for remediation and refactoring.
- Collaborate with team leads and developers to align with development standards.
- Evaluate and suggest improvements in development practices and coding guidelines.
Required Experience:
The successful candidate must be able to start mid-May 2025 and will demonstrate the following:
Essential Skills:
- Strong experience in Pascal and COBOL programming, ideally on OpenVMS.
- Proven background in code quality reviews and legacy codebase analysis.
- Strong technical / system programming mindset and capabilities
Desired Attributes and Skills:
- Strong analytical skills in bug detection and defect classification.
- Familiarity with source control and code versioning systems.
- Ability to write clear, actionable review feedback and technical documentation.
