Seeking a Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager / SME with 5+ years experience with patch management tools
Job details
The MECM SME is responsible for completing quarterly updates, developing and managing patch and vulnerability remediation processes, and deploying security updates, patches, and hotfixes. They also assist with managed OS deployments, ensure systems adhere to security and compliance standards, and analyse and resolve complex enterprise system hardware and software problems.
Key duties and responsibilities
The candidate should have proven experience in MECM infrastructure administration, strong knowledge of Intune and MECM, and the ability to interface with peer teams and vendors to coordinate solutions.
The Skills Framework for the Information Age (SFIA) has been used to inform the requirements. In summary, the department seeks a suitable candidate with the following relevant skill sets:
Skills/Levels:
5+ years of experience with MECM. / Experience with patch management tools. / Microsoft Certified - Endpoint Administrator Associate.
About the team
The section is responsible for uplifting, patching, and maintaining its Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM) services. This involves ensuring that MECM is operating efficiently and securely by following the agile framework to plan and prioritize tasks.
Essential criteria
Security Required: NV2 Security Clearance required
Location - Canberra based, Hybrid -Minimum 3 days in office (Canberra based) + 2 days from home can be requested and considered on case-by-case basis

- Demonstrated ability to develop, implement, and manage patch and vulnerability remediation processes, including package creation, testing, and deployment using Intune and MECM.
- Experience deploying security updates, patches, and hotfixes.
- Experience completing quarterly updates for MECM infrastructure.
- Experience with managed OS deployments.
- Experience ensuring systems adhere to security and compliance standards.
- Ability to analyse and resolve complex enterprise system hardware and software problems, and interface with peer teams and vendors to coordinate solutions.
- Experience with SCOM to monitor, configure, deploy and manage IT infrastructure.
- Demonstrated experience managing the risks and issues, as well as devising mitigation responses.
- High-level communication documentation skills.
