The Role:
Infrastructure Engineers implement, manage and retire the infrastructure (including physical, virtual, networking and cloud infrastructure) that supports digital services.
You will:
• Research, design, test, and implement new technologies and services to support the Departments secure National Telepresence Service
• Maintain expertise in current and emerging collaboration technologies, including implementation and troubleshooting.
• Investigate and resolve complex and recurring issues in coordination with the Network Operations Centre (NOC).
• Develop, maintain, and implement collaboration solutions that align with the Branch’s strategic goals, with limited supervision.
• Conduct research and testing to support future service offerings and improvements.
• Maintain the collaboration tools in the Secure Communications lab as a mirror of the Branch’s production environments.
• Under limited supervision, troubleshoot complex problems in lab environments and develop implementable solutions for production systems.
• Enhance customer experience across collaboration systems by working closely with other areas of the Branch and Government.
• Provide expert technical advice to project managers and the Branch’s leadership team.
Skills and Experience Required:
• Experience working with network Routing, Switching, DHCP, DNS, SNMP,TCP/IP, UDP, NTP and various network communication protocols.
• Effective communication skills including demonstrated ability to undertake detailed research and analysis.
• Experience with designing and implementing secure and scalable UC solutions aligned to business needs
• Experience in overseeing or administering Unified Communications systems.
Location and Contract Term: This role is based in ACT. 12 month contract with x 12-month extension options pending budget and delegate approval.
Security Requirements: Applicants must be Australian Citizens. A NV1 security clearance is required for this role.
