The Role:
The Project Manager, will lead planning and delivery of the department’s program to systematically test systems, processes and procedures. The program will comprise independent and overlapping elements to deliver an integrated approach to transition from construction to commissioning and operationalisation.
The role requires development of the testing plan, and leading delivery and performance monitoring of operational readiness and completeness of business processes and procedures, systems and technology and infrastructure and facilities to mitigate risks prior to day one operations commencing.
Key activities include to:
1. Program management including planning and document development, scheduling, benefits management, financial management, governance and reporting.
2. Managing stakeholders and suppliers .
3. Preparing executive briefing, materials and business cases and providing advice to decision makers including the Department’s Executive and the Minister.
4. Developing a strategic roadmap for the delivery of projects including interactions with other innovation initiatives across the department and external agencies.
5. Having the ability to deliver high quality work with limited supervision and attention to detail.
6. Knowledge in biosecurity processes and policy.
Location and Contract Term: This role can be based in ACT, NSW & Offsite. Combination of face to face, online and onsite at times (once per week on average)
Security Requirements: Applicants must be Australian Citizens. A NV1 security clearance or the ability to obtain is required.

- Develop project plans in consultation with the Department.
- Ensure business processes and facilities are operationally functional to meet regulatory risk management requirements in accordance with relevant legislation
- Engage with internal stakeholders across policy, operational and corporate functional readiness.
- Engage, consult and collaborate with external stakeholders.
- Provide conduit to ensure people readiness, staff safety and familiarisation with systems, processes and procedures and facilities.
- Interface with internal subject matter stakeholders to ensure technology readiness, implementation and testing of systems and devices.
- Test and trial facilities, systems, process flows and people interface.
