Our client is seeking a Scrum Master for a 12-month Canberra based opportunity. The Scrum Master's responsibilities include ensuring that development teams follow Scrum framework values and Agile practices, mentoring and motivating the teams to improve processes, facilitating meetings and decision-making processes, and eliminating team impediments.
The successful candidate requires sound knowledge of Agile practices and the ability to effectively manage and mentor development teams. This role at times acts as an intermediary for management and should be able to relay priority, scope, and schedule to any audience.

Role Responsibilities
- Working with squads to ensure consistency of Agile delivery practices and roadmap alignment.
- Minimising external disturbances for the squads by removing blockers and impediments, managing risks, and protecting Sprint commitments.
- Supporting the squads in framing problems, identifying solutions and opportunities by facilitating and leading workshops.
- Responsible for ensuring Scrum is understood and the team adheres to Scrum theory, practice, and guidelines.
- Resolves team impediments with other Scrum Masters to increase the effectiveness of the application of Scrum in the organization.
- Facilitates and supports all Scrum events as required, ensuring the team knows and has the right scope, priority, and schedule
- Works with Agile coaches and other Scrum Masters to grow within the role.
- Collaborate with Product Owner to ensure effective backlog management, refinement, estimation, and prioritisation.
- Ensure timely and accurate communication with the client workforce regarding changes to the systems and services they consume.
- Guide scrum teams to higher Scrum maturity through training, mentoring, and support to follow Agile values, principles, and practices.
- Contributes to the advancement and improvement of Agile practices within the organization ensuring the proper use of collaborative processes.
- Leading or supporting Agile teams in Agile ways of working, helping them understand how and why we do things the way we do.
- Experience with Information Management suites such as Jira or Microsoft DevOps.
- Project support and end-user change management.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Working knowledge of Agile and or Lean methodology, techniques, and frameworks, such as Scrum or Kanban, to deliver solutions.
- Excellent knowledge of Scrum techniques and artifacts.
- Monitoring tools
- Workshop facilitation
- ITIL and service management
- Natural team building skills and demonstrated leadership experience in genuinely caring about team members success.
- Strong communication abilities and able to communicate with clients autonomously
