The Role:
The Senior Cloud Engineer will be responsible for the provision and support of the Departments cloud capabilities with an emphasis on Microsoft M365, Azure and Fabric. Experience supporting and delivering these capabilities in alignment with the ACSC Essential 8 will be of particular interest.
The successful applicant will have good practical and demonstrated experience across a broad range of Cloud capabilities and have pragmatic Commonwealth Security experience to assist with security accreditation/incidents/responses. They will also participate in the Cloud Operations on-call roster.
Skills and Experience Required:
1. Contemporary broad Cloud domain knowledge and technical skills.
2. Strong skills in enterprise Cloud environments with an emphasis on Azure, M365 and Fabric.
3. Experience integrating Cloud capabilities with a multi-vendor environment—the Department operates an amalgam of ICT infrastructure, including but not limited to HPE, VMware and Microsoft.
4. Exceptional communication and engagement skills with a range of stakeholders, including senior users.
5. Administrating a secure cloud environment compliant with the Essential 8 and Information Security Manual.
6. Proficiency in translating business requirements into technical capabilities.
Location and Contract Term: This role is based in Canberra. 12 month contract. 2 x 12 month contract extension options pending budget and delegate approval.
Security Requirements: Applicants must be Australian Citizens. A NV1 Security Clearance is required for this role.
