About the role: As a Senior Cloud Engineer, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping secure, scalable and compliant cloud environments across Azure and Microsoft 365.
Responsibilities:
Work Type: 12-month contract + 2 x 12-month extension options
Location: Canberra
Hourly Rate: $130 - $160 inclusive of super
Security Requirements: NV1 Security Clearance

About the role: As a Senior Cloud Engineer, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping secure, scalable and compliant cloud environments across Azure and Microsoft 365.
Responsibilities:
- Deployment of Azure Landing Zones and Hub-Spoke architectures.
- Implement and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Bicep, ARM templates and Terraform.
- Administer and secure Azure Active Directory (Entra ID), including Conditional Access, PIM, and B2B collaboration.
- Manage enterprise applications (SSO, OAuth, SCIM provisioning) and identity integrations.
- Oversee Azure networking components including VNets, ExpressRoute, DNS, NSGs, and Private Link.
- Support virtual machines, disk management, backup, and automation via CLI, PowerShell, and Runbooks.
- Monitor and respond to security events using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Sentinel, and Defender for Cloud.
- Ensure compliance with ASD Essential Eight and ISM controls.
- Provide operational support and service health monitoring for Microsoft 365 services.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across governance, security, finance and service delivery teams.
- Expertise in Entra ID (Azure AD), Conditional Access, B2B Collaboration and PIM.
- Strong knowledge of Azure networking, VMs, backup and security (Firewall, WAF, NSGs).
- Experience with Landing Zones, Hub-Spoke architecture and Application Proxy.
- Proficient in Infrastructure as Code (Bicep, ARM, Terraform) and automation (CLI, PowerShell).
- Skilled in monitoring and security tools: Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Sentinel, Key Vault.
- Familiar with cost management, Defender for Cloud, and compliance with ISM & Essential Eight.
- Deep understanding of Entra ID, Intune, and Defender Suite (Endpoint, Identity, Office 365).
- Experience with SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, and M365 service health monitoring.
- Knowledge of Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps) and integration with M365 services.
- Skilled in compliance tools: Microsoft Purview, Security & Compliance Centre, eDiscovery.
